Once upon a time there was a traveling troupe of dreamers, they were modern day nomads, drifting across the lost highways in search of something that could not be explained with single words like “freedom, love, and family”. The
faces in the gypsy tribe changed, but the runaway train would not stop. It rolled into city after city, becoming one with each scene, sometimes eventually chased away in the wake of broken hearts and stormy times, only to
ride the next wave of change into another city. This went on and on for years with no end in sight, even the beginning was lost
in the mix of new blood and the passage of time. But the stories were passed along in everlasting bonfire and midnight highway moments. It seemed as if the little circus tribe had lost its way, its fire was in
need of fuel, and the future was dim.. Then they stopped in a city called St.Louis. They were battle scarred and tired, many had fallen, but here they landed. Into the arms of a beautiful kindred spirit. They were The Soul Survivors. The Messengers of the Apocalypse. They began to rebuild and
rethink the future of the caravan which had dwindled in size since “The Burning Man” festival in the summer of 2000. Overall 2000 had been a bad year with a house fire
that injured people and decimated most of the equipment.. But like the troopers they were, they battled onward, enjoying the little victories as they came. For instance, a spot on The Learning Channel when TLC filmed Skitch in a tattoo
feature, and then Hope married Skitch in 2000 in an outdoor festival that culminated with Apox playing its 1st show after the fire in Minneapolis MN. So here the soul survivors stood (St.Louis)
and made a last stand, into the winter of 2001. All around them they discovered a scene of dark lights that shined and sparkled. All ages and and races of beautiful souls who supported them when they performed as Dejavu and The Messengers in a local coffee house called “South Grand” and so they recorded a special concert and left it online at The Messengers
Mp3.com site.
The band played at The Firehouse, and at The Galaxy and invited the scene to play onstage with them. members of Triplelixer, Tory Z. Starbuck, SCSI, Son of William and The Process, plus the Karnevil Macabre & Sinister Circus have all jammed onstage with
Apox, as have others , they are in the photo’s taken by skeletal13 and others which
adorn these pages. Then we organized a Warparty and took our army of misfits to Columbia MO where we met Soda Ash and were introduced to St.Louis in
December 1999 when we attended SCSI’s CD relese show at the Firehouse. The night was called St.Louis Apocalypse and many of the above were present and performed. You can click on the pictures to visit the official scene page of St.Louis darksiders and see more of the pictures from
this show and others. Skeletal13 is the webmaster and a local DJ too. You will also be in the matrix called Impure.org which host many of the creepy & sexy sites plus other interesting fringe sites. Our
friend Angel runs Impure with his wife Shae. They also publish the St Louis e-list and broadcast a dark wave internet radio station . .
